I have just finished my 3rd year as a public school librarian in the metroplex but I am the first to admit that there is so much that I do NOT know. Thank you for this blog! I am hoping that one item you could address is what a professional librarian would share with a principal, during the school year and at the end of the year. I realize that this may be district or school dependent but are there certain topics or information of a global nature or concern that one should consider sharing? Thank you so much!
Thanks for the suggestions, Robin and Christine. I'll tackle Christine's first since there are still a couple of contract days left this year, so you still have time to talk with your principal. Good luck!
I know you don't like "library lessons, like with an almanac" but I am about to start a job at a small elementary school that will have me as part of the specials rotation. I'll have to teach two 45-minute classes per day and want it to be more fun than "library lessons" but not huge research type projects since I won't be seeing any one class more than every 6 or 7 days or so. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!
